About us

About us

The Czech Battery Cluster („CBC“) was founded in 2022 with the aim of ensuring a partnership between the public and private sectors (public-private partnership), supporting the cooperation of private companies, the research sphere and the public sector.

This cooperation focuses on real projects for the development of an emission-free economy and technology
changes in industry, scientific and technical projects, support for innovative business and international cooperation.

CBC supports their effective cooperation, the creation of new know-how linked to the individual parts of the value chain and the creation of new spin-offs and start-ups, thus building and supporting entrepreneurship and innovation.

By linking the scientific and private spheres, it also contributes to increasing the competitiveness of its members by supporting technical education for the 21st century with a focus on developing talent according to market needs.

We look forward to hearing from you or meeting you in person at one of our next scheduled events.

Since 2019 is a Vice-Chairman of the international conference Advanced Batteries, Accumulators and Fuel Cells. Since 2022 is a Chairman of the Czech Battery Cluster.

Viliam Blumtritt

Member of the Board

founding member; representative of large industrial enterprises;
Works At: Kovohute Pribram
Field Of Study: recycling of lithium battery cells.

I have spent almost my entire professional career in business and project management in engineering. During these activities, I applied my engineering background and knowledge of tribotechnics. In 2021, I used the unique opportunity to commercially and technologically build LiB recycling in the Kovohutě Příbram company. Despite a relatively heavy workload, I always find time for family and hobbies. The idea of the Czech Battery Cluster fills me with optimism, and I believe that when a person cares about something, develops it, and perhaps even goes beyond his duties, it not only serves him well, but also brings joy.

Jan Vejbor

Executive Manager

Being a finishing student of Political science and Western European studies, and at the same time a supporter of all means of transport and nature-friendly technologies since childhood, the mention of the existence of electromobility in 2008 and the associated issues impressed me like nothing so far. Since then I have been working on electric cars, lithium batteries, charging infrastructure as well as energy storage sysems and related legislation both on a private and professional basis. From 2009 I gradually worked as a member and then head of the civic association Elektromobily, later on I joined and from the position of vice-president help up until today the Czech EV Industry Association (ASEP). In my business career, I worked as a project manager in a consulting company dealing with the Prague Electric pilot project, followed by the position of product manager of electromobility and subsequently as a sales manager at ŠKODA ELECTRIC in Pilsen, specializing in the production of electric buses and trolleybuses. My currently profession is the business  manager of the Czech largest manufacturer of lithium battery systems EVC Group, a position from which I represent the interests of small industrial enterprises in the Czech Battery Cluster as vice-chairman.
