BRNO – The membership base of the Czech Battery Cluster, z.s., established in the summer of 2022 by elected representatives of education (Brno University of Technology), companies (Kovohutě Příbram nástupnická, EVC Group) and under the auspices of the state (CzechInvest agency), exceeded 30 members as of 1 February 2024. After less than two years of existence, its initial membership base has tripled. To date, it includes almost all major Czech technical universities, including the Czech Academy of Sciences, representatives of start-ups, small, medium and large enterprises, as well as state-owned enterprises and institutes.
The common goal of all entities is to create an independent Czech research, development and production of batteries across the entire value chain. As the project manager of Czechinvest, Mr. Filip Krůta, summarizes, „ČBK is unique in the field of Czech clusters because it has covered all major universities and research institutes in a short period of time.“
The Czech professional and general public can benefit from the activities of the CBK by participating in its regional seminars „Battery Value Chain Opportunities for Your Region“. The next opportunity will be on 9.4.2024 in the Technology Centre Hradec Kralove. „Thanks to the expanding membership base, local members in each county can also speak and concretely show how the battery economy brings business and scientific opportunities to their area“, explains Assoc. Tomáš Kazda, Chairman of the CBK.
